After 25 years of legal battles, Fatboy Slim's iconic track 'Satisfaction Skank' is finally seeing the light of day. The song, which samples the Rolling Stones' 1965 classic 'Satisfaction,' was a staple on dance floors in the late 90s and early 2000s, but its official release was held back by the band's refusal to grant permission. Fatboy Slim, or Norman Cook, recalled a phone call from Mick Jagger himself, who expressed his liking for the mix. However, the Stones' management remained steadfast in their denial, leading to a 20-year wait for the track's release. The band eventually gave in, allowing Cook to recreate the track using the original parts of 'Satisfaction.' The result is a unique blend of the Stones' classic rock and Fatboy Slim's 'big beat' sound, enhanced by a music video directed by Tom Furse of the Horrors, featuring AI-enhanced archive photos of the Stones. This development echoes the Stones' earlier decision in 2019 to relinquish their rights to the Verve's 'Bitter Sweet Symphony,' a move that sparked controversy and led to a shared songwriting credit and future royalties for Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Despite their recent low-key appearances, the Rolling Stones are set to release another album, according to guitarist Ronnie Wood. Meanwhile, Fatboy Slim, now 62, continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry, hosting festivals and planning outdoor concerts, as well as releasing a book titled 'It Ain't Over 'Til the Fatboy Sings.'
