A nationwide recall of ReBoost Nasal Spray has been issued due to a serious health risk: potential life-threatening infections. This is a situation that demands immediate attention. Distributed by MediNatura New Mexico Inc., this homeopathic nasal spray has been found to be contaminated with yeast, mold, and other microbes, including the bacteria Achromobacter. The levels of these contaminants exceeded acceptable limits, prompting the FDA to issue the recall. The FDA warns that "there is a reasonable probability that adverse health consequences, including life-threatening infections, will occur with use of the product in the immunocompromised population."
But here's where it gets controversial... While no adverse events had been reported as of December 10th, the potential for serious health issues is significant. Consumers are strongly advised to stop using ReBoost immediately and consult a healthcare provider if they experience any related symptoms.
ReBoost is marketed as a relief for nasal congestion. It comes in a white and yellow carton containing a 20 mL spray bottle. The specific lot under recall is No. 224268, with an expiration date of December 2027.
If you purchased the product directly from MediNatura, you can request a refund by emailing recall@medinatura.com. Otherwise, return the spray to the place of purchase.
